Streams: The Prayer-filled Life

People have a lot of role models today. Jesus was a role model for his disciples. He modeled the life with God to them. Part of that life was prayer – really central to that life was prayer. This is why the disciples said to him in Luke 11 after they saw him praying – “Lord, teach us to pray”. Being with God in prayer

In our world today, we are often defined by what we do. Our value is determined by our productivity and ability to do something that others want or need. This has severe implications for our Life with God. God values us differently. He loves us first, without condition, no strings attached. His love for us does not increase or decrease based on our productivity or activity. Consider the story of Jesus with Mary and Martha:
