New President, Same King
It’s been a little under a month now since the United States inaugurated its new President. As Christians we are called to pray for our leaders. In 1Timothy 2:1-3 Paul wrote: “I urge then, first of all, that intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Savior who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.”
When we pray for our leaders, God is pleased. It is His will that we intercede regularly for the President and those who are in authority. Regardless of our personal opinion, our responsibility is to pray for our President.
But let us not forget that Almighty God still rules the world and His will shall be done no matter who is in office.
Let us not forget Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
Let us not forget Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it.”
Let us not forget Revelation 1:8: Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the one who was and is and is to come, the Almighty.
Let us not forget Colossians 1:15 and 16: Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation, for by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
Let us not forget Matthew 1:21 Jesus is Immanuel, God with us
This nation has begun a new era. No one knows the future. As citizens of both heaven and this nation, it is our duty to pray that God’s will would be done in the life and policies of our new President. Let us also remember that Jesus is still Lord ,still our Prince of Peace, still our Wonderful Counselor who is worthy of our praise and will see that His will takes place on earth as it does in heaven.Repo!
