Read Ephesians 4:12 -13

- According to these verses, what is the purpose of the Spirit’s gifting

Read Galatians 5:22-23

- Which of the fruits listed do you feel you have the most of, which do you feel you lack the most?

- Ask God to cultivate that particular fruit in your life and to show you what you can do to help this fruit grow.

Fruit grows as a result of the nature (character) of the tree. The same is true when it comes to the fruit of the Spirit growing in our lives. God develops our character so that the fruit will develop naturally. Read John 15:1-5 then think about how God wants to develop your character through “abiding” in Him. From these verses, what do you suppose it means to “abide” in Jesus as a branch abides in a vine?
