Defining Discipleship

How do you “define” discipleship?

Hell Ride

At a recent retreat we (the ministry team at Calvary) came up with this working definition for discipleship as we move forward into the new year and into changing times:

Discipleship – Doing Life Together With Jesus.

Simple, yet broad.

The Hard Word video Here is how we break it down:

Doing – Discipleship is active, not passive.

Life – Discipleship is all about how we live our life
Together – We were never meant to do it alone
With Jesus – The core of discipleship is following Jesus, He is our Guide and Master.

Any thoughts? Again this definition is a work in process, it may change, it may not. But either way, it hopefully gets you and me thinking about things (life and ministry and Christianity) a little bit differently.
