Bible Reading Tools
A common New Year’s goal is to read the Bible more and/or read it entirely through. And according to the popular website 43things.com it is one of the top goals of 2007. Many of us realize the importance of reading the Scriptures and sincerely desire to have more of the Word in our life, unfortunately our efforts often start well but fade quickly. One thing that can help in this quest is some useful tools. Here are a few that I’ve found:
- Biblegateway.com This is an excellent website that has various reading tools and many different Bible translations
- KenBoa.org Ken Boa’s ministry website has various devotional tools as well as a daily scripture that can be sent directly to your e-mail
- Oneyearbibleblog.com Down to You release This is a great blog that guides the reader through the entire Bible in one year with daily readings combined with notes, reflection questions, and graphics. You can visit the site or subscribe to receive their weekly e-mail
- When reading its always helpful to have a good bookmark, so here’s the one we designed and handed out at Calvary. Feel free to download it, print it, and use it! Download
- An excellent book that helps readers better understand what they are reading is How to Read the Bible for All It’s Worth by Gordon Fee
