I’m working on a sermon / discipleship training for this coming Sunday and the text I’m using is Matthew 28:19-20 (the Great Commission). I’m curious as to what you think of when you read this scripture. Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments, I’d love to hear them!

It’s Saint Patrick’s Day, a day that has become associated with nothing but drinking, parades, and the color green. But, the real Saint Patrick was quite a guy. He was a revolutionary Christian Missionary who, by ignoring the Roman church, brought Christianity to a people described as “barbarians.”

In part 1, we looked at the Jewish expectations of the coming Kingdom of God and how it differed from the Kingdom that Jesus proclaimed. Now, I’d like to look at a particular portion of the proclamation - the Kingdom “is near”
